Ondřej, Denisa, and Petr, three Romani suffering from discrimination, left Czech Republic and Slovakia to enjoy a world of opportunity in Britain. This multi-layered, yet rather intimate documentary, which contains a number of scenes shot by the protagonists themselves on their mobile phones, depicts the everyday worries and small victories of the three main characters who represent an educated and ambitious, yet still vulnerable community of Europeans, and who help embrace the opportunities offered to others. Well-experienced director Mira Erdevicki managed to create a cinematographically engaging film, that brings the audiences to a deep understanding of the challenges of emigration, and reflects on questions of identities and belonging in a post-Brexit world. Moreover, the film shows that creating opportunities and accepting the other without prejudices, can bring significant change in life of marginalized communities.

Ondrej, who was consigned to a Special Needs school in Slovakia, studies psychology at college and wants to be able to support his family. Denisa, the first British Roma lawyer, has to help migrants affected by the fallout from Brexit while sustaining her parents in Czech Republic. Petr has been awarded an MBE for community policing, has created community centres for everyone and is now focused in helping people with Brexit related issues. When Covid puts Britain into lockdown, all three discover that immigrants must find their own resources to survive and are determined to give others the help that they have been given.
