Synopsis
Sara Pizatnich, the protagonist of the film, travels with her daughter Stella back to their home town, Sarajevo. Zineba Hardaga, Sara's mother, was the first Muslim woman to be honored as a "Righteous among the Nations". Zineba's family hid the Jewish Kabilio family during World War II, thus saving them from certain death. Fifty years later, the roles have reversed and the Kabilio family rescues the Hardaga family from the inferno of Sarajevo. Zineba chooses to move to Israel with her family. Sara, her husband Moshe and daughter Stella convert to Judaism. Today, Sara works in "Yad Vashem," the Jewish Holocaust Museum. Stella served as an officer in the Israeli Air Force. The film traces the journey back to Sarajevo, where Sara meets her divided family: her Muslim sister Zerpa, who lives in Sarajevo, and her Christian brother Salco, who lives in Mexico. Together, they attempt to comprehend the transformation from being saviors to becoming survivors
