Synopsis
"Do you know why it wasn't worth it? Because my children are torn between two worlds". Thus my mother summarizes 25 years in America. In 1966, after my family emigrated from Israel to New York, the issue of our assimilation became a source of conflict between my parents. My two brothers and I were never quite sure whether we should embrace or reject our new country. Twenty five years later each one of us defines personal and national identity in strikingly different terms. While travelling between my current home in Tel Aviv and my family's home in the USA, I engage in an emotional journey that raises questions about immigration and assimilation, identity and belonging, along the trail of one immigrant family's wandering - Alexandria, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles and New York.
