Founded by Ruth Diskin in 2001, Ruth Films has been a leader in world sales and marketing of quality independent films worldwide. As a boutique sales company, Ruth Films represents artistically excellent and compelling works that address human rights, Jewish content and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Films from the catalogue have been shown widely at international film festivals in addition to broadcasts on global outlets. As one of the highly acclaimed Israeli distributors, Ruth Films works with organizations and institutions that integrate non-commercial, educational media into their programs. This includes colleges and universities, archives, art cinemas, libraries, museums, galleries, and symposiums. Keeping things intimate, Ruth Films focuses on character-driven stories that address broad and diverse audiences.

Managing Director Hadar Porubanova was born in Czechoslovakia. Fluent in five languages, she founded and ran the International Francophone Film Festival in Bratislava FIFFBA from 2003-2014.
        She was audiovisual attaché to the French Embassy in Slovakia - French Ministry of Foreign Affairs between, journalist at the Slovak National Radio, Broadcast in French, and director and founder of the Non-Profit Organization FIFFBA.

Hadar moved to Israel in 2011 and served as International Relations Manager at the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School Jerusalem for the David Perlov International Film Project, as personal assistant to the Ambassador at the Embassy of Slovakia in Israel. She has vast experience in the field of film marketing and distribution worldwide.

Hadar Porubanova was appointed new Managing Director of Ruth Films in January 2017.

With over 15 years of experience in marketing and distribution in the international arena, the Ruth Films team ensures that films reach diverse and varied audiences across the globe.

    Ruth Diskin – Founding Director

Ruth Diskin is the founder of Ruth Diskin Films Ltd., a Jerusalem- based International marketing and distribution company, which she directed from 2001-2017.

She is a native of Israel with a degree in International Relations and English Literature from the Hebrew University, and in addition, completing her Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Open University of Israel. She began her film career in 1989 as the Head of International Relations & Marketing Department of the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School - Jerusalem.

In 2001, she opened Ruth Diskin Films Ltd., focusing mainly on marketing and distribution of documentaries and made-for-TV dramas to various international film festivals, film events, TV networks and the educational market.

In addition, Ruth Diskin is the curator and director of the Micha Shagrir Film Collection, a unique archive, the first of its kind in Israel, to focus on an individual filmmaker.

Ruth currently is the Director of Projects and Culture at the Jerusalem Foundation.

Her pioneering work in the field of Israeli cinema is unmistakable and we are proud to continue in her footsteps.
